Leadership Coaching

This course defines supervisory coaching and counseling and all the issues to be considered during that process.  The organizational and leadership issues that affect the employee and their work performance will be discussed, as well as the incredible impact leadership has on others.  Employee motivation will be discussed as well as the critical importance of trust and creating a positive work culture. This course is lecture based, however, team and small group exercises are also a part of this course.

This course will discuss leadership theory and principles, as well as specific behaviors needed for the leader to be effective and execute in their organization.  The need for execution and discussion of execution as a discipline will be covered, as well as how the ability to execute ties to the emotional intelligence of the leader.

Strategic Planning

This course will discuss the importance of strategic planning in organizations and teams, and how it can provide a unified direction for everyone.  The importance of vision, mission, and core values will be discussed, as well as how to develop them and how they are the basis for creating a strategic plan.  Planning for positioning will be discussed along with the impact of having the organization properly positioned in a VUCA environment.  Students will be provided with a clear method to create a strategic plan in their organization.

Developing a High Performing Organization

This dynamic course will discuss the importance for the law enforcement executive of thorough planning to best serve their community and have better outcomes.  Techniques for assessing your organization, effective systems that enhance outcomes as well as agency and employee performance measures will be discussed.  Creating a training plan to meet organizational goals as well as how organizational culture and leadership effects employee effectiveness will be the focus of this course.
